A good communicator and a strong problem-solver, Brittany takes an analytical approach to resolving her clients’ important legal matters. She likes to analyze a matter, brainstorm unique ideas and different scenarios, and find the best possible answer.
After being called to the Ontario Bar in 2016, Brittany attended the University of Toronto, where she obtained her Master of Laws (LL.M) concentrating in business law. With the skills obtained through this program, combined with her law degree, it has allowed Brittany to apply her business acumen and strategic thinking with her understanding of the law to evaluate different scenarios to come up with new ideas to determine the best path forward. This serves her well in her commercial real estate practice where her clients appreciate her careful diligence. She likes to personally walk them through deals, ensuring that they understand her advice and agree with it before proceeding.
Brittany facilitates purchase and sale agreements and especially enjoys working on larger-scale commercial deals, including acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing where her meticulous style really shines. Additionally, Brittany assists clients with commercial financing, on both the borrower and the lender side, with experience acting for private lenders including drafting mortgage commitments and security packages to meet her clients needs. Brittany also has experience working in franchise law on franchise agreements and disclosure documentation.
Brittany is very methodical in her work. She emphasizes the importance of listening to her clients and likes to begin new matters with an introductory letter followed up with a phone call to discuss everything. This helps her get a clear understanding of her clients’ business goals to deliver the best legal advice. She’s a proponent of managing expectations so that she can then seek to exceed those expectations.
Having grown up in a small town in Newfoundland, Brittany is very personable and enjoys working with others. Outside of the office, Brittany is an avid sport enthusiast and enjoys spending time outside with her two dogs.
